We are an organization dedicated to preserving and providing awareness of the rich history of Morris County, New Jersey.
Mission
The mission of the Morris County Historical Society, as the representative of a county with an exciting and unique place in the history of the United States, is to discover, preserve, communicate and promote the history of Morris County through exhibits, programs, and publications.
The Society is headquartered at Acorn Hall, an 1853 Victorian Italianate mansion located in Morristown, NJ. The Society operates Acorn Hall as a historic house museum, produces exhibitions on local history in the Galleries at Acorn Hall, and provides public programming on Morris County history.
The Morris County Board of Trustees is actively involved in developing the programs to support those who are interested in Morris County history.
